Hello sugar cookie enthusiasts around the globe! My name is David Zaiff and I am one of the co-founders of The Sweet Life Cookie Co.
Wow. Can't believe we made it to this point! The excitement of being a business owner for the first time hasn't even worn off, and here we are blogging?! On OUR website?! We couldn't be more thrilled to share our iced sugar cookies with the world.
Our goal here is to make our website feel like an extension of us; welcoming, cozy and fun! We are going to be loading up our website over the coming days with lots of new pictures, blog posts, videos, you name it, it's coming!
Katrina (our other co-founder and, let's be honest, the talent in this operation) started as a cookie baker less than a year ago. She had always had a talent for baking, but primarily just custom cakes with fondant. So to see how she has embraced this newfound cookie-courage and accelerated her abilities makes me think she may be Neo from the Matrix. It's truly an honor and joy to watch her create our tasty treats.
Using a combination of royal icing and flood icing (home-made!) we make our original recipe sugar cookies with love, right in our own home! As home bakers who (at this point) are doing this in our spare time, we had to learn all about the cottage laws that apply to people like us. Once we understood the rules and regulations, we got started with Easter orders, and boy did we get busy fast!
And the truth is, we haven't looked back. This website for our wonderful sugar cookies, plus our instagram presence @thesweetlifecookie has given us a strong following already online, which we hope to cultivate as we grow.
Thank you to all who gave us their blessings and support, we are energized and fueled by that encouragement. Remember, at the end of the day, all we knead is dough!
